Meet Shelly

Hi I’m Shelly, the head receptionist at Distinctive Dentistry, and I’ve had the pleasure of being part of this wonderful practice for over 20 years (yes—really!).

Over the years, I’ve discovered that dentistry is about so much more than just teeth. One of the things I love most about my role is meeting and greeting our patients, getting to know them as individuals, and hearing about their lives beyond the dental chair. Building those personal connections is what makes every day so rewarding.

I understand that visiting the dentist isn’t always something people look forward to, and that’s why I’m always here with a friendly smile and a listening ear. Whether you have concerns about your dental health, questions about treatments, or just need a bit of reassurance, I’m always happy to help.

I also assist patients with booking appointments that suit their schedules and making sure they’re matched with one of our lovely dentists who can best meet their needs. If you’re curious about dental treatments, interested in joining Denplan, or simply need guidance on where to start, I’m more than happy to share my knowledge and help you feel confident in your choices.

What else is happening at the practice this month?

It’s been an exciting time for us at Distinctive Dentistry! We’ve recently begun reaching out to other local practices to develop a referral pathway to our wonderful Asier, giving more patients the opportunity to be referred to us for periodontal care. It’s something we’re really proud of, as it allows us to support both patients and fellow practices with high-quality gum treatment.

We’re excited to introduce the newest addition to our team, Dr Meghesh Shelat. Before joining us, Meghesh held a senior role at a thriving private practice in Perth, Australia, where he was trusted with complex treatments and played an active role in guiding and supporting fellow clinicians.

Meghesh is recognised for his gentle and reassuring approach, taking the time to ensure patients feel comfortable and confident throughout their care. He is passionate about creating bespoke treatment plans that prioritise long-term oral health, combining clinical precision with a keen eye for natural, aesthetic results.

We’re delighted to have him join the team and are confident he will be a fantastic addition to the practice.
